General Terms & Conditions

Privacy Policy

We respect the privacy of your personal information and we will take all reasonable steps to keep it strictly confidential. The information you have provided us will be used to fulfill your order, communicate with you throughout the ordering process, send our own marketing information and newsletters. In order to guarantee your protection from abuse of your financial information, we do not store any personal financial information on our servers and process all payments securely on the Secure Payment Site (see Security of Your Payment below). At any point you may opt out of any marketing material, but contacting us, or clicking unsubscribe from our email newsletter. We will not share or sell your information to a third party. Under no circumstances will we sell or receive payment for licensing or disclosing your personal information.

Payment Terms

We accept payment using most major credit cards and payments transact through Global Pay as stated on our website. This does not affect any other rights we may have. We accept no liability if a delivery is delayed because you did not give us the correct payment details.

Security of your Payment:

Your payments are processed entirely on the Secure Payment Sites operated by Global Pay. Your card details are not received or stored by Embillian Online in any form, and when you place an order as part of the checkout process you are automatically taken to the Secure Payment facility for payments. Your credit card information will be securely transmitted to Global Pay for transaction authorization using SSL 128-bit encryption. All payments are denominated in United State dollars.

SSL, security internet protocol known as Secure Socket Layer, uses connection-oriented end-to-end encryption to provide data confidentiality service and data integrity service for application layer traffic between your web browser and the secured payment gateway servers. It provides data encryption, server and client authentication and message integrity between the client and the web server.

Online Security / SSL

Security is of paramount importance for our shoppers during an online transaction. This is why we use robust and secure methods to ensure our customers experience is both safe and secure. All purchases processed on this website are transacted securely over SSL, the industry standard Secure Sockets Layer, between your computer and our website. Purchases made online using our secure payment page are more secure than a card transaction conducted in a shop, over the telephone or by fax ­ because Embillian Tea ensure that your online purchase details are encrypted using complex logarithm methods.

Acknowledgement and acceptance of your order

You will need to provide us with your e­mail address and we will notify you by e­mail as soon as possible to confirm receipt of your order and e­mail you again to confirm details. An acceptance of your order will take place on dispatch of the good(s) ordered.

What is your delivery policy?

We will deliver the goods to the address you specify for delivery in your order. It is important that this address is accurate. Embillian Tea is packed fresh, and when we receive your order we produce your teas garden fresh, for this reason we need up-to 14 days to process and ship your teas. In most cases we achieve this in 7 days although for the special leaf teas in particular we may need 14 days. Please allow 14 days as a guide in case you are ordering Embillian as a gift for a special event. You can track your order at our Tea Boutique by logging into your account. 

Purchased Embillian teas can be delivered to any accessible location in the world, nevertheless duties and taxes imposed by the respective governing bodies on the purchased products will not be borne by Embillian. We aim to deliver the goods by the date quoted for delivery but delivery times are not guaranteed. If delivery is delayed due to any cause beyond our reasonable control, the delivery date will be extended by a reasonable period and we may contact you to arrange an alternative time.

And what about Shipping?

We currently use DHL and EMS Shipping rates which are automatically calculated in checkout based on weight and distance. To see an estimate of what these charges may be for your country, please use our shipping rate. Once your order ships, we will supply you with a tracing number where one is available. We ship our teas from Sri Lanka.

Does size of order affect delivery cost?

Delivery charges vary according to the type of goods ordered and cannot be refunded, unless we accept that damage to the goods in transit to you was due to our negligence. For larger orders this means we subs

idise freight, for smaller ones we don't. There is no minimum order.

What is your returns policy?

Any product purchased at the Embillian Website could be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. If you are returning the product due to an error on our part, we will also pay shipping costs.

Returning of products is subject to the following conditions:

- Full refund of the amount debited to your card or received as payment for that specific order, and for the products returned in full. Return shipping costs are not refundable unless the return is the result of our error.

- Since we are based in Sri Lanka and picked, perfect, pack and ship direct from Colombo / Kandy in the interests of quality and freshness, shipping is a major component of our product cost. Hence we cannot accept returns for exchange due to a preference for a different tea for example, unless there is a defect in the product. We hope you understand.

- We cannot accept any Product after 30 days of delivery.

- We cannot accept a Product that has been largely consumed (more than two servings).

We are confident that you will enjoy your Embillian Tea, although if for some reason you have a need to return your order, please submit the reason along with the order number to info@embillian.com. We will contact you within 48 hours to agree on the return. Refund will be made by the same method as payment was received for your order.

If we have made a mistake with your order, we will send out a replacement along with a post bag for return of the incorrect product. If you decide, for whatever reason, you don't wish to keep the item ordered; we will refund the returned product upon receipt. The return will be at your expense.

For Purchases made from a currency other than US $, there could be a difference between the amount appearing in the order confirmation and amount charged to your card / account due to variations in exchange rates.

Cancellations and Returns

You have the right to cancel or return your order up to 7 working days following receipt of your goods. This includes your right to cancel your order under the distance selling regulations. You will receive a full refund including the original postage and packaging for the order if the charge was levied with your original order and it is returned in full. If your order has already been dispatched please refer to our returns information.
We hope you are happy with your products, however if you wish to return a product to us you may do so within 7 days of the dispatch date. It must be in a saleable condition and in its original undamaged packaging. Return delivery charges will only be refunded in the event of faulty, damaged or incorrect items being sent to you. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Stock availability

All items are subject to availability. We will inform you as soon as possible if the goods you have ordered are not available.

Ordering errors

You are able to correct errors on your order within you cart up to the point on which you click on "Submit" during the ordering process. If you feel you have made a mistake with your order, please contact us, and we will do our best to help and correct this for you.

Risk and Damage

Risk of damage to, or loss of, the goods passes to you at the time of delivery to you, or if you fail to take delivery at the agreed time, the time when we tried to deliver. You will only own the goods once they have been successfully delivered and when we have received cleared payment in full.

Ownership of Rights

All rights, including copyright, in this website are owned by Embilmeegama Tea Factory. Any use of this website or its contents, including copying or storing it or them in whole or part, other than for your own personal, non­commercial use, is prohibited without our permission. You may not modify, distribute or re­post anything on this website for any purpose.

Online Trademarks

The Embillian Tea name, logo and website (www.embilliantea.com) are trademarks of Embilmeegama Tea Factory and may not be used or copied in any manner without the express prior written consent of the company. 

Accuracy of content

We have taken every care in the preparation of the content of this website, in particular to ensure that prices quoted are correct at the time of publishing and that all goods have been fairly described. However, orders will only be accepted if there are no material errors in the description of the goods or their prices as advertised on this website. All prices are displayed inclusive of Tax. If the price of the goods increases between the date we accept your order and the delivery date, we will let you know and ask you to confirm by e­mail that the new price is acceptable. If it is not acceptable, then you will of course have the right to cancel your order. Any weights, dimensions and capacities given about the goods are approximate only. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, as to the accuracy of the information contained in any of the materials on this website and we shall not be liable to any person for any loss or damage which may arise from the use of any of the information contained in any of the materials contained on this website.

Damage to your computer

We make every effort to ensure that this website is free from viruses or defects. However, we cannot guarantee that your use of this website or any websites accessible through it will not cause damage to your computer. It is your responsibility to ensure that the right equipment is available to use the website. We will not be liable to any person for any loss or damage which may arise to computer equipment as a result of using this website.
